Annual Exhibition

The 2025 CPSA DC119 20th Annual Colored Pencil Exhibition will be March 14-April 27, 2025

Online Entries will be accepted February 9, 2025 through Monday, March 3. Mail in entries must be postmarked by Monday March 3, 2025. Drop off day is Monday March 10, 2025. No entries accepted at drop off.

We use on online registration and payment form. Click the link below to register, sign our waiver and pay the fee of $35 for CPSA members or $45 for non-members. Up to three entries can be submitted for one fee.
If you prefer to register by mail and pay by check, please print the paper form, fill it in and mail with your check to the address on the form.

All Artists are welcome to participate

Any artists, 18 years or older, working in colored pencil is welcome to enter and need not be a member of the CPSA. Entry fees are $35.00 for CPSA members, and $45.00 for non-members. ​Payment of the fee must accompany the entry form by mail or online. Up to three pieces maybe submitted per entry. Monday March 3, 2025 is the deadline for artists to submit with check payable to CPSA DC 119 or via our website.

Artwork will be judged and cash awards given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place. A new Up and Coming Award (for members who have never won any award at a CPSA DC 119 Exhibition) and Honorable Mentions will also receive cash or gift card awards.

Entries must be original,  and must be 80-100% colored pencil

Works must be original, and 80-100% colored pencil, according to CPSA International or Explore This! guidelines.

Artwork must be framed and ready to hang, utilizing wire for hanging. No sawtooth hangers permitted. Additionally, each piece must identified with a label attached to the upper right hand corner. (labels are provided on entry form) All artwork sold is subject to 20% commission. Artwork not for sale is also welcome. Entries must have been completed within three years of exhibition date. Concept of design and execution of artwork must be solely that of the artist, and completely original.  No prints or reproductions please.

Our Judge:

Dr. Mojgan Samardar’s has been a member and fund-raising chair of the Tipp City Area Arts Council (TCAAC) board since 2018 and is also a Community Voice Producer for WYSO Public Radio in Yellow Springs, Ohio.

 Dr. Mojgan Samardar’s education and career were very technical in nature. Mojgan has a BS, MEng and Ph.D in Electrical Engineering with extensive research in artificial intelligence and human cognition. She relaxes and lets her creativity flow through her artwork. She enjoys pottery, photography, glass mosaic, glass fusion, and watercolor painting. She especially loves working with glass. Her first art glass adventure was creating large mosaics. She then learned about glass fusion techniques and was encouraged to explore the magical properties of glass. She also began taking watercolor classes. Mojgan’s first public showing was in 2018, at the TCAAC “a fine art exhibit,” where she was awarded 1st place in the 3-dimensional category with her glass fusion and 2nd place for her watercolor entry. Her glass fusion also received an honorable mention in the 2018 Piqua Arts Council Art Exhibit. Mojgan’s work is on display in the Mills Park Hotel in Yellow Springs.
