Description:
This one day workshop led by Andrea Walker will include a demonstration and guided drawing from start to finish using water-soluble graphite. We will cover a variety of pencil techniques and tricks of the trade to create realistic textures and experiment with the unique effects of water-soluble graphite. We will walk through the stages of a drawing, including the initial sketch and proportions, blocking in values, and then refining with layers. Andrea will share the unique challenges of rendering glass and her method for translating accurate proportions from a reference photo to the drawing paper. She will demonstrate and explain how colored pencils can be layered on top of the graphite drawing to add color to the finished design.

This in-person workshop is open to all levels of experience.
